All-Natural Ingredients
The Den Refillery’s in-house line, KINNECT, uses only all-natural, ethically harvested ingredients. While our goal is to use ingredients that are as local as possible, this is not always possible for our specific formulations. Our suppliers only offer sustainably harvested ingredients, but batches are oftentimes pulled from multiple locations and we are not always able to track the exact origins. Influenced by seasonal weather changes and ingredient availability, you might notice slight colour or scent discrepancies between batches. We strive to adapt to the rhythms of nature as best we can.
Pricing
We are dedicated to making our products and skincare as affordable and accessible as possible. However, small-scale, conscious production of sustainable and ethical products can be costly. Inexpensive products often indicate that someone along the supply chain isn’t being paid fairly. We pride ourselves on being equal opportunity employers who value our team above all. This means that our prices not only reflect the quality of our ingredients but also our commitment to fair pay and appreciation for our staff who contribute to The Den’s success. More expensive doesn't always mean high quality, and it is our goal to be able to offer high quality products at fair prices and to break barriers for accessibility for consumers looking to opt in for sustainability, but at more affordable pricing.
Packaging
We are committed to upcycling boxes and packing supplies for your orders. The paper, plastic, bubble wrap that you may receive in your package is up-cycled from vendors who cannot ship to us in a 100% zero waste manner or from neighbouring stores from whom we upcycle their shipping “waste”. We encourage you to reuse them as well, or recycle the materials through local recycling programs.
Occasionally, we have to purchase additional packaging materials, but we ensure that it consists of 100% recycled materials whenever possible.
Transparency
We continuously review our production and sourcing practices to enhance sustainability, considering everything from materials to end-of-life disposal.
