At The Den, we are dedicated to making continuous, meaningful, and sustainable change that supports our communities, partners, and the planet. We believe in regenerative and reciprocal practices, and are proud to grow with small, like-minded businesses, cultivating a system of care for our land and each other. As the language, science, and information surrounding sustainability is always changing, we do our best to stay up to date and adapt as we learn more. This is why we sometimes will drop or pause on purchasing from past or current suppliers, if their packaging and/or ingredients change and do not meet our standards sometimes it means pausing on relationships and purchasing.
All-Natural
When curating our collections, we exclusively work with all-natural ingredients and materials that are produced and harvested as sustainably as possible. Because of their natural compositions, all of the products we carry and make are safe for our waterways and the environment.

Our warehouse is located on the unceded traditional territory of the Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ and the local manufacturer we work with is located on the unceded traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, and səlilwətaɬ Nations. We are forever grateful for the opportunity to live, learn, and create on this land.
Made in Canada
We make a conscious effort to source as locally as possible, supporting small makers with a shared vision of sustainability and ethical fair trade.
Featured Friends of The Den:
ONEKA - Frelighsburg, Quebec
Oneka's line of natural personal care products was created out of a deep love and respect for our natural habitat and fellow living beings. All of the herbs and flowers found in Oneka's products are grown on their organic permaculture farm. Environmentally, they chose to work and take care of the land and its ecosystems, to regenerate them rather than exploit and deplete them. ONEKA is a Certified B Corporation, meaning that they meet the highest standards of “verified social and environmental performance, public transparency and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose.” You can learn more about their certification here.
Harlow - Vancouver, BC
Born out of personal need for thoroughly and aesthetically designed, whole ingredient self-care goods, Harlow presents simple products made from complex pants and a love for their natural environments. Thermohair - South Mountain, Ontario
The development of Thermohair socks began in 1990 and continues to be a family-owned operation. These are a green product - created "green" before it was a common word! The goats efficiently convert plants into mohair fibre which is sheared twice per year. No other animal does such an efficient job! Here are a few benefits to choosing natural fibres over synthetic:
- There are no microplastics released during washing;
- Warmer and more durable fabric;
- Natural antibacterial properties;
- Odour resistant;
- Breathable;
- Thermoregulatory/Temperature regulating;
- And, above all, the fibre will eventually break down, making it a more sustainable and environmentally friendly option.

Closed-Loop System
At The Den, we recognize the finite nature of resources and strive to manage them sustainably for future generations. Our refill program helps eliminate single-use items by reusing and repurposing larger containers within the community and utilizing natural ingredients in our protects to protect local ecosystems.
All products are made using quality ingredients and care and are curated to have as long of a life as possible. Through our work in S.C.A.P. and our in-store refill program, we strive for a completely closed-loop and circular system within our communities. Here’s how you can participate:
- Refill in-store! We offer refills on all KINNECT, ONEKA, and Mint Cleaning products.
- Gift or sell. Not getting the use out of your mug that you thought you would? Share your unused items to keep them in circulation and out of the landfill.
- Repurpose. We believe there are endless possibilities for glass bottles and jars. Here are a few great ones: Plant propagation, candle making, and water bottles, storing leftover food and sauces!
- Recycle. If you need to recycle please do so responsibly and research where it can be properly disposed of in your community.
Sustainability is at the heart of everything we create, so whatever you do, please don’t throw it out! We all play a part in preserving our natural environments and must remain mindful of our planet and our waste.
